Root’s impressive performance in the 5th Ashes Test at The Oval saw him score 91 in the second innings, taking his total runs in the series to 412. This is the 19th time Root has crossed the 300-run mark in a Test series, joining the esteemed company of Tendulkar.
With this accomplishment, Root surpassed the likes of India legend Rahul Dravid and Brian Lara of West Indies, who have achieved this feat 18 times each in their illustrious careers. It is a testament to Root’s batting prowess and consistency.
